Abstract Submission
The symposium will present recent scientific and technological results on all aspects of the theory, design, fabrication and application of sensor and micromechanical systems, and promote exchange of ideas and techniques among the scientists. This year, there will be a special international session for exchange in English language, as well as a joint session with the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Igarashi Award

Igarashi Award is an award for excellence given to a young researcher (35 years old or younger at the time of Sympoium). All abstracts submitted by eligible authors will be evaluated and then nominated for consideration. Final evaluation will be made by the content of full manuscript and the presentation made during the symposium.

Igarashi Award is named after Dr. Isemi Igarashi, one of the founding members of the IEEJ Sensors and Micromachines Society. He is known for his achievements in the research and development of pressure sensors at Toyoto Central Research Institute. Until his untimely death in 1997, he continued to inspire the young researchers in sensors and MEMS research and to commemorate Dr. Igarashi's the inspiration to the young researchers the award was created in 1998.
