SCOPE
The 19th Sensor Symposium will be held at the Kyoto TERRSA conference center from May 30 to 31, 2002. The symposium is focused on recent scientific and technological advances on all aspects of the theory, design, fabrication, and application of sensors, micromachines, and applied systems, to promote exchange of ideas and techniques among the scientists, engineers, and world-class invited speakers.





LANGUAGE
The official languages of the symposium are Japanese and English. The proceedings will be published in English.

PRESENTATION
   
Authors can choose a preferable style from the followings.

1.  Oral presentation:
A 20 minute oral presentation including Q&A. OHP and LCD projector are available.
2.  Poster presentation:
Posters will be exhibited throughout the symposium. The symposium offers a time slot when all participants are available for the exhibitions.




SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Authors should submit 4 copies of abstract. The abstract should not exceed two pages. In the first page, only the following items should be indicated:

1) Title of the article
2) names of authors
3) the birth day of the presenter (in consideration of Igarashi Award)
4) affiliation
5) address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the corresponding author
6) topics code number(s) selected from the above list.
7) preferred presentation style (oral or poster)
 
In the second page, put the title of the article and body of the abstract. Additional pages for figures, tables are attachable. Please type your abstract in A4 size or the legal letter size paper. Explain originality and usefulness of your work in the abstract.

Deadline of abstract submission is January 18, 2002

Submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee. The authors of the accepted articles are requested to electrically submit a one page PDF file for digest and a 4 or 6 page PDF file for proceedings. These two books will be distributed at the symposium. The deadline for the electrical submission is April 5, 2002.

LATE NEWS

A few numbers of late news will be accepted. The authors who present late news are requested to submit one page (A4) camera ready abstract, including the title of the article, names of authors, institutions, figures and tables. The deadline for the late news is April 19, 2002.




IGARASHI AWARD

Igarashi award is presented to the best presenter younger than 36 years old.

Submission fee:
Persons who submit articles are requested to pay \25,000.- (for 4 page formats) or \35,000.- (for 6 page formats) per one presentation. The fee includes 100 free copies of the reprint of the proceedings.
